OPEN GENERATOR SETS

  • These generator sets are open (no enclosure) and are to be installed in weather protected and uninhabited buildings.
  • EXHAUST SILENCER and EXHAUST FLEX PIPE are furnished loose for installation by others.
  • VIBRATION ISOLATORS furnished on all sets for quieter, smoother operation.
  • "KLEEN-POWER"® is achieved on all sets by special circuitry, allowing only 3-4% harmful harmonic waveform distortions.
  • SENTINEL "SCOUT" digital controller has diagnostic displays and is programmable for custom applications.
  • Open or enclosed sets are available in natural gas, LPG, or diesel fuel, in sizes 15 thru 125KW (dry fuel) and up to 300KW (diesel).

STANDARD ENCLOSURE

  • STANDARD housing is weather protected, with sound deadening foram, and has mounted and plumbed exhaust silencer.
  • Revolving Field generator design with automatic voltage regulator, allows just 1/2% voltage regulation.
  • ENGINES are fully equipped with all necessary items and are factory load tested with their specific fuels: natural gas, LPG gas, or diesel.
  • STEEL BASE wraps around all enclosed sets and provides protection for housing.
  • DIGITAL DIAGNOSTICS on all sets, for low oil pressure, high engine temperature, overspeed, underspeed, fail to start, automatic engine start-stop with (3) start attempts before auto shutdown, and tamper proof engine run time meter.
  • HOUSINGS are all weather protected and lockable, allowing only authorized entrance.

"SUPER-SILENT" ENCLOSURE

  • SUPER-SILENT housing is weather protected with special "RESIDENTIAL" silencer, plus special formulated sound absorbing foam and air baffles for ultra-quiet performance.
  • AUTOMATIC ENGINE PROTECTION on all sets, by automatically shutting down for low oil pressure, high coolant temperature, engine overspeed and overcrank. Automatic starting allows up to (9) individual starting attempts before final shutdown.
  • SELECTOR SWITCH allows "MANUAL", "AUTOMATIC" and "MAINTENANCE-OFF" positions, on all gen-sets.
  • EFFICIENT engines run on clean dependable LPG, natural gas or diesel fuel. All engines conform to EPA clean exhaust emissions.
  • UL CERTIFIED automatic transfer switch completes the package of the home or business standby generator set.

DURABLE AND PORTABLE POWER THAT’S TOUGH, YET QUIET.
MMD Equipment’s PowerPro™ towable generators are engineered to handle the most rugged requirements for temporary jobsite power, with Delta Demand Excitation™ technology that responds immediately under variable loads. Plus, Quietech™ sound reduction makes them quiet enough to provide power for that all-important special event. Mobile, dependable and easy to operate, PowerPro towable generators are the right choice for all of your light-duty and medium-duty temporary power needs.

QUIETECH™ SOUND REDUCTION

  • Frame and cabinet are built with high-strength materials, and all doors and movable fixtures are engineered to minimize vibration.
  • The cabinet is designed as an acoustical chamber optimized to reduce sound power. Cabinet interior is lined with a special vibrationabsorbent, open-cell polymer material to cancel acoustic vibrations. This oil- and soil-resistant material is bonded to the cabinet walls with a resilient adhesive that enhances its performance.
  • The unit’s airflow has been engineered to provide proper cooling at an absolute minimum noise level.
  • Engine combustion chambers have been shaped to minimize or eliminate diesel clatter. Direct-injection fuel delivery is quieter and easier to maintain. Oversized muffler results in a quiet exhaust.

DELTA DEMAND EXCITATION™
  • Automatically adjusts voltage output instantly when variable loads are applied to the generator.
  • System is composed of three interlinked elements: a solid state automatic voltage regulator (AVR) that monitors the power output of the machine; an independent power coil that supplies excitation energy; and an excitation coil that induces the generator primary coil to produce more voltage to meet demand.
  • Produces entertainment industry-grade power when combined with optional electronic governor.

CURBSIDE POWER CONNECTIONS
  • Direct connections are labeled in standard U.S. nomenclature (L1, L2, L3, N) and are guarded by a clear cover that has test meter probe access to each terminal even when the guard is closed, allowing safer setup and testing for all applications.
  • GFCI convenience and 50 amp twist lock connections are protected with a guard that is secured for safety during operation, yet allows easy access to connections during setup.
  • All power connections are curbside for convenience and safety in urban applications.

LOCKABLE CONTROL PANEL
  • Warning lights and analog gauges including fuel, tachometer, oil pressure, coolant temperature and charging system amps provide easy monitoring of engine operations.
  • Generator output is controlled by a lockable voltage changeover switch and is monitored by analog gauges measuring volts, amps and frequency.
  • Current selector switch, voltage adjuster and main circuit breaker are all protected behind a lockable door. For added safety, the Emergency Stop button is located below the door for accessibility at all times.
  • Panel light has an on-off switch.

AUTOSTART
  • Airman autostart control provides an easy connection to transfer switch applications and delivers instant backup power to a building’s electrical system.
  • Provides automatic glowplug delay and overcrank protection.

RELIABLE ENGINES
  • Units feature either Nissan or Isuzu diesel engines that are EPA Tier 2 compliant and meet CARB certification.
  • Electric Fuel Primer and Air-Bleed (EFPA) Pump automatically bleeds air from the system without opening the injector lines if the generator runs out of fuel — reducing downtime and maintenance calls.
  • Automatic protection from low oil pressure and high temperature conditions.
  • Restriction indicator eliminates guesswork about when to change the air filter.
  • Starting and battery charging systems are either 12 or 24 volts, depending on model.

COMPACT, DURABLE DESIGN
  • PowerPro machines are compact, yet offer unrestricted access to service components.
  • All engine fluids drain to the outside of the machine.
  • Cabinets are powder-coated, and all hardware is stainless steel to maintain a fresh look for years. All cabinet doors lock with a key.
  • Off-white cabinet finish minimizes visibility impact in entertainment applications.

TRAILERS
  • Trailers are available with single or tandem axles, and surge or electric brakes to best fit your needs.
  • Trailer-mounted and skid-application fuel tanks are both filled through a locking fuel door on the generator cabinet.

Load Bank Testing for Standby Generators and UPS Systems

What is a load bank?
Load banks are devices designed to provide electrical loads for testing power sources such as generators and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS). Load banks are also used to reduce "wet stacking" problems in diesel engines of backup generating systems. They are used in a variety of ways including factory testing of generator sets, periodic exercising of standby engine generator sets, battery system testing, ground power testing, load optimization in prime power applications, and factory testing of turbines. Cowart Electric has the equipment necessary to handle these and other applications.

Reasons to Load Bank test:

  • A requirement for healthcare facilities
  • Weekly exercising introduces no load to the generator
  • Confirms proper engine performance under a load
  • Induces heat to the generator to prevent moisture build-up on internal parts
  • Assures that your standby power will be ready when needed
